Rhymes for Your Time: A Mental Health Awareness & Self-Care Initiative
Rhymes for Your Time is a non-profit organization dedicated to raising awareness about mental health. As an organization, we also listen to and talk with people struggling with mental health. One of our goals is to help improve the quality of life for anyone struggling with a mental illness. Rhymes for Your Time does this in a unique way: by promoting creative outlets such as poetry, writing, and the arts. Oftentimes being creative in some way can be an overlooked form of self-care.
Rhymes for Your Time hopes to one day be able to expand into other artistic areas such as music.

Our Founder
Janae Gamara started this project for her class, COMM260. Although she started it for a class, she hopes that this website has a real-world impact. As a writer, performer, and spoken word poet herself, Janae understands the importance of staying creative when struggling with mental illnesses. She has depression and anxiety, but the arts have helped her, even when she couldn't afford her medication. Janae hopes that staying creative can help others, too.
